The health and wellbeing team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council are organising an outdoor cuppa and a catch event at the Mill Hill Community Centre in Goole.

The afternoon is being held to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee and will take place from 1-3pm on Wednesday, May 25.

Visitors will be able to meet new people over free refreshments whilst also enjoying a singalong with pupils from Kingsway Primary School.

Previously, the health and wellbeing team have attended the Wednesday social groups at Mill Hill with residents of the sheltered housing to do intergenerational activities with Kingsway Primary School.

Molly Curtis, community sports coach at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “We’ve done events before the pandemic which were a great success, so keeping the connections between both the school and the sheltered housing residents with events such as the Jubilee one is really important.

“We hope to attract some more residents and gain a few more numbers to the social group, and we have been kindly donated some cakes and biscuits by the Goole Morrisons Community Champion, which I am sure residents will be very grateful for.”
